Troubleshooting Your Samsung Note 9

Samsung has been a close competitor next to Apple for a couple of years now, and they have been known for churning out some really good phones. The Note series stands as a testament of what Samsung is capable of producing since the Note series got popular overtime. However, Samsung did have a bit of a downfall with their Note 7 back in 2016 because it was found to have a defective battery design which was causing the phone to heat up. This led to Samsung having to recall the Note 7 back.

This has not stopped Samsung from continuing to churn out new phones and series. The Note series is still a popular series and Note 9 was launched in 2019. It is a popular phone that boasts several cool features. So, a Samsung Note 9 does make for a good companion if that is what you are looking for. Of course, it is important to remember that no smartphone does not come without its own set of issues. So, just like the iPhone, Samsung smartphones also have their list of problems.

This is why we will discuss some of the common problems that users have had to deal with on their Note 9, and we will then talk about how you can troubleshoot that problem. Of course, if nothing works and you still find yourself in need of a Note 9 screen repair or any other sort of professional repair job, then you can contact a reliable phone repair shop near you for that.

Frozen and/or Unresponsive Screens

This is not a popular complaint, but some users are experiencing their screen suddenly freezing or becoming unresponsive whilst they are using the phone. This problem was more commonly experienced with the Note 8, however, some users are still finding this happening with their Note 9. One way to deal with this problem is to push down both your volume button and your power button at the same time and to hold that for a few seconds. This will allow your phone to automatically shut off and then reboot itself. Once your phone has restarted, it should be able to continue working like normal. However, if your screen is getting frozen or becoming unresponsive very frequently, you should probably get that checked out by a professional.

Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues

If you are having issues connecting your Wi-Fi, and are noticing trouble reconnecting or random drops in your connection, then you can try out the following:

  • Go to your settings, and press your Wi-Fi, choose the forget network option, and then wait. You then refresh and find your Wi-Fi again, enter the password again, and then start using it.
  • Turn your router off and wait for 10-20 seconds before restarting it.
  • Keeping your phone’s Wi-Fi connection on default settings.

These problems should help you fix your connectivity issue. In case you are facing a problem with your data, then you will have to talk to your data service provider for a better idea.

Problems With The S-Pen

The stylus for Note 9 has a bunch of new features now, including a Bluetooth setup, allowing you to be able to use the men to control your media, movies, etc. However, if you are noticing problems with your S-Pen like it suddenly becoming unresponsive or unable to work, then your best bet is to put the S-Pen back in its proper slot in your Note 9 and wait for a minute or two. You can then take out your S-Pen and it should once again be working fine. This is because the new S-Pens also have small batteries, and it needs to be charged back in its slot inside the phone. It only takes a minute or two for it to be properly charged and you should be able to use the stylus once again. Of course, if you are still noticing problems with the S-Pen, you can take the phone and then stylus to a repair shop and have them take a look at it.

Wet Speaker Problems

A great thing about a lot of new Samsung phones is that they can withstand being in the water. Note 9, for instance, can be submerged for up to 5 minutes in up to 5ft of water. This is a pretty great feature. However, some people have complained that their speaker makes a “wet or muffled” noise once they get the phone out of water.  Samsung has put in layers that prevent the water from entering inside the speaker, but sometimes the accumulated water inside the protective cover can make end up muffling the sound. It is recommended that you just wait for the phone to completely dry, or just give a few gentle taps to the speaker area and let the water come out. Your speaker should once again sound the same after that.
